Support Team

Team Coordinator

Lola Tortolero

Lola Tortolero is a San Francisco native and has been a vital part of the Animal Hospital of Diamond Height's team for 3 years. She finds working with animals everyday very rewarding and in the future hopes to work in the field of endangered animal conservation. In her spare time, she dances hula with the S.F. Based group, Na Lei Hulu Ika Wekiu.

Veterinary Nurses

Michele Casale
Michele Casale joined the Animal Hospital's team in April 2006. Previously, she interned in Utah with the Bureau of Land Management in Wildlife Biology experiencing such diverse species as bats, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, and desert tortoises. Michele has experience in wildlife rehab, land conservation and pet sitting. She has a degree in Literature from Bennington College and previous work experience in libraries sciences and web development. In her free time, she enjoys taking Sparky, her 3 year old Lab/Chow mix, on hikes.

Angela Washington

Angela Washington joined the Animal Hospital in June 2006. She is a San Francisco native and currently lives in Pacifica. She attends Western Career College working to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has a beautiful pit bull, Puppy (yes, that's his name), and six cats:  Striker, Zap, Princess, Missy, Yoda and Chiquita.

Wes with Riley

Wes Estes  Hailing from Athens, Georgia, Wes is a newcomer to the Bay Area, but his vast experience with dogs and cats makes him a great addition to our staff. Wes has an extensive background in biological sciences, and since he started in May 2007, he quickly became comfortable in the exam and treatment rooms and all areas of our daily operations. So say “hello” to the tall guy with a charming Southern accent.

Trish Whitman

Trish Whitman joined the Animal Hospital staff in June 2000. Although she maintains a full time job elsewhere, she loves working with animals so much that she just has to spend some time every week with them!

Amy Hansen

Amy Hansen joined the Animal Hospital staff in June 2005. She moved to San Francisco from New Jersey in 1999 and completed her degree in Zoology/Animal Behavior. She now lives in San Bruno with her better half Michelle, their dog Zoe and two cats, Carlie and Simon.

Megan Olsen

Megan Olsen sees us as a stepping stone—and we certainly don't mind—for her future career as a veterinarian. She is currently studying zoology and looking to gain as much experience as possible in the veterinary field before applying to veterinary schools. Whether developed by dog grooming, sitting or training—or assisting veterinarians in animal restraint—Megan values the qualities of calming animals down and having a good touch to succeed in this field, and we couldn't agree more. Megan joined Animal Hospital of Diamond Heights in August 2007.

Client Relations Specialists

Crystal with Sophie,
our hospital cat

Crystal Bicoll joined the Animal Hospital staff in May 2007. Ever since the young age of 12, she has had a strong passion working with animals. She has devoted eight years of her life to volunteer work at the San Francisco Zoo. Here intentions were to give people awareness of what can happen to a pet or wild animal if they are not properly cared for, or have been taken out of their natural habitat. Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelors in Biology with an emphasis in Ecology at SFSU.

Jacki Stebnicki joined the Animal Hospital staff in December 2007. Prior to joining the Hospital team, she coached a youth girl's lacrosse team for San Francisco City Lacrosse. Jacki graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York. She and her husband moved from upstate New York in 2006 and already consider San Francisco home. Jacki loves animals and enjoys pet sitting and walking dogs for her friends and neighbors. She spends her free time volunteering at the San Francisco SPCA.
