Senior Wellness
If your cat or dog is over 7 years of age, he or she is considered a “senior.” These pets should visit us twice a year at least to address their special needs. We run blood and urine tests every 6-12 months with the goal of early detection of disease.
Many breeds are predisposed to age-related conditions such as glaucoma, heart disease, osteoarthritis and cancer. Please ask your doctor if your cat or dog is at increased risk for any of the above, or other, diseases due to breed.
Cats as a species tend to hide illness. As a result, by the time we see a sick feline, their disease may be advanced. Please bring your senior kitty in at least twice yearly for lab work and a physical exam to detect potentially life-threatening conditions such as kidney, liver, thyroid or heart disease.
